Making Something Outta Nothing

Republicans are out for blood. Currently they are calling for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to step down after controversial remarks he made concerning President Obama's attributes (he's "light-skinned" and speaks "with no Negro dialect"). Republicans are citing a double-standard, stating that if one of their members stated such things, they would be forced to step down from office. Reid has already apologized to Obama for the remarks, and Obama has accepted the apology. So...can't we just let this go? Apparently not. Arguing about this is seemingly more important that our troubled economy, health care reform, or the two wars we're fighting. Glad to know we all have our priorities straight.

  1. Kate you can tell you like Obama. Yes what Reid said was bad and he probably souldnt have said it but does anyine have their priorities strait? If it was a republican who said these things trust me all the democrates would be out for that guys blood! Its politics and you try to expose any weaknes to win. I think what people dont think about is how much worse a republican would have it if they remarked about Obama like that.

  2. Yes, Logan, the Republicans would have faced some major negative feedback, but after apologizing (which they probably wouldn't have done, even though it would have been in order), both sides would have moved on. Reid's apologized, so let's GET ON WITH IT!

Besides, how does this post show I like Obama? It's about Harry Reid. I said Obama twice. Where are you getting your conclusions? Please inform me.
